Resident Company – Tribe of Human
Tribe of Human is the resident company at The Rover, directed by Rani Welch.
Definitely experimental, never the usual… Sometimes singing, most times talking, all times moving. Underneath it all is some gem of a story laced up with busy life addictions, stilettos as weapons, layered humane detail that is sometimes heavy like railroad ties, then soft like breath —There is nothing specific to define us — you know it when you see it, but you can’t label it. There is nothing stylistic to hold us back. No certain technique, no decided school of thought, no academic qualities we borrow from the big whigs. We just do our thing….a group of beautiful creatures, a tribe of human.
Members of the Tribe:
Angela Buccinni, originally from Buffalo, NY, received her BFA in Dance from the Boston Conservatory. Since moving to New York in 2006, she has worked with trapeze artists and aerialists, with Chase Brock, and with the Brooklyn based ‘Pop Action‘ dance company Streb, where she performed ‘Little Ease’, a solo initially created and performed by Elizabeth Streb. www.AngelaBuccinni.com
